FDA finally revealed the long kept secret that chicken meat contains cancer-causing arsenic, a toxic chemical that it could kill in high doses, according to the Associated Press.
But the problem is where this arsenic actually comes from and what is worse is mixed with chicken feed on purpose and ends up in the chicken meat you eat.
More than 70% of the chicken, sold for human consumption, were given arsenic in order to accelerate their growth and also were given the healthy color of chicken, turkey and hog meat.
About half of the chickens that were tested, contained inorganic arsenic in the lover, the most toxic cancer-causing chemical, FDA founds.Chicken Meat Contains Cancer-Causing Arsenic
Therefore, the manufacturer of Roxarsone, an ingredient in chicken feet containing arsenic, was asked to discontinue the sales of that feed additive, although he admits that the amount is too small to be dangerous to the people who consume it.

Does processed meat really cause cancer?





On the 26th October WHO released a statement saying that processed meat causes cancer. I can't imagine the back lash from the producers of these foods.

However, the truth is meat not just processed meat, is the cause of digestive cancer e.g colon cancer and so many health related issues. Food and health researchers  like Dr, Sebi, Dr Brown Pfeifer, George Malkmus, Dr James destroy diseases,  Dr.Campbell have understood the cause and the cure of all diseases are in the foods we eat, have long published these findings.

How does cancer occur? Cancer occurs when there is an undesirable change in the nucleus of the cells of the body(DNA). This results in inappropriate growth of cells which are triggered by internal toxins, external toxins, malnutrition and some other factors.

Processed meats - such as bacon, sausages and ham - do cause cancer, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). According to BBC this statement was released on the 26th October 2015
Its report said 50g of processed meat a day - less than two slices of bacon - increased the chance of developing colorectal cancer by 18%.
Meanwhile, it said red meats were "probably carcinogenic" but there was limited evidence.
The WHO did stress that meat also had health benefits. Cancer Research UK said this was a reason to cut down rather than give up red and processed meats and added that an occasional bacon sandwich would do little harm.

What is processed meat?
Processed meat has been modified to either extend its shelf life or change the taste and the main methods are smoking, curing, or adding salt or preservatives.

Say no to Soda!

Ever since I stopped taking soda (coke, fanta, sprite, bitter lemon and above all malt drinks) it became easier to drop those pounds. I love malt drinks especially maltina, I had 2 cans of malt a day!. It was very bad for me but I was determined to loose the weight so I made a hard choice to reduce the malt intake to once a day. That was the most difficult decision to make in this health life journey. When I achieved that and observed I could handle it I further reduced it to three times a week then to once a week and now I can go a month without it but I still have it sometimes.

Asides from the fact that soda is dangerous to your health because of the aspartame content, it bloats and expands your stomach plus increases your risk of diabetes.

Diabetic Friendly Salad Dressing


I know a lot of us on this journey always wonder what healthy option can be used for our salads, especially because we don't want them tasting bland and dry. We start thinking of heading back to the unhealty way just to take away the stress of searching for what to and what not eat( trust me we have all been there). The regular mayonnaise and ketchup is overly unhealthy and I will put up a post later on explaining why that shouldn't even be an option.
There are a ton of easy to make diabetic friendly salad dressing out there, and I tell you they are all so delicious, did I mention Delicious . For the next couple of weeks I will post some amazing recipes that I use, here is one you can try
Raspberry dressing vinaigrette
Ingredients
2 tablespoon raspberry vineger
2 tablespoon raspberry jam (no sugar added)
1/3 cup canola oil
Directions for preparation
Whisk raspberry jam and vineger together and canola oil and whisk in slow and stead stream. Mix will thicken as you whisk
Tip: make sure to read the label of what you buy, check sugar content this is very important.
