What about water retention?

Whenever I tell people drink lots of water they often ask 'What about water retention' as though it is beyond control so I did some research to provide us with answers and solutions.

Causes of water retention can be natural reaction to hot water, medication containing estrogen, hormonal changes during menstrual cycle, pregnancy, menopause, physical inactivity, congestive heart failure, lack of protein, thyroid disease, malnutrition or bad diet.

The problem can be controlled by reducing salt intake and increasing potassium consumption because sodium draws water into the body and potassium excretes it. Potassium can be gotten from fruits especially bananas, vegetables, fish, nuts and seeds. Still drink lots of water because water improves the kidneys function, increase your level of physical activity by exercising.
