Recently you hear people say eat this because it is rich in fibre.
I understand that fibre is important but for two reasons which are, it adds to your faeces helps you poop better and aids digestion let's not confuse nourishment for aid. Fibre helps, it is not a nutrient although it is important.
Disadvantages of a high fibre diet.
- A sudden switch from a low- to high-fibre diet can create abdominal pain and increased flatulence. Increase your fibre intake gradually and add it from food rather than supplement.
- Very high-fibre diets may decrease absorption of minerals such as iron, zinc and calcium, so stick to the recommended intake.
