The retired Marine sergeant says his new limbs will bring significant benefits: "There's things with prosthetic that I couldn't do.
"Like circular door handles. I tried multiple times and I failed multiple times. I hope to be doing that."
His personal relationships will also change: "When I first met Dr Talbot I did a fist bump. Now I can actually shake his hand. Well, not right now, but one day."
His rehabilitation could take up to 12 months.
Looking to the future, Mr Peck says he is planning a new career: "My dream job since I was 12 was to be a chef and because of my donor's gift I actually have a fighting chance of doing this.
"I plan on going to culinary school, travelling to Paris and Italy to learn about their techniques."
For now though, he is focusing on his recovery, telling the donor's family: "I will drive on through the pain.
"I will never give up.
"I will remember his selflessness and his gift until the day I die and will not take it for granted."
